We chat with Pantene’s new Ambassador; Robyn Lawley. Best known for her cover of Vogue Italia’s June 2011 issue, and the first plus size model to be shot for Australian Vogue.
SA: Tell us about you’re role as an Ambassador for Pantene?
Robyn: Pantene has just brought out a new product- the Pantene 3 Minute Miracle Conditioner. I’ve been using Pantene products for many years now and I love it so much because it helps repairs three months of damage in just one wash. This conditioner is super-hydrating for my thick hair and as you can imagine, my hair goes through a lot of torture as a model.
SA: What was you’re first big break into the modelling industry?
Robyn: My French ELLE Magazine cover or H&M. I can’t really remember what came first.
SA: How do you feel modelling impacts on ones self esteem in an industry where you are constantly judged and where you are required to be of a certain weight and fit?
Robyn: It’s easier for me because my job doesn’t require me to lose weight. That in it self, puts a huge amount of pressure and I thankfully don’t need to worry about this. It’s definitely a challenge and I think it’s really unfair for all the other girls that are struggling and dieting all the time. I’m hoping that more girls’ start being their regular size. I feel fortunate that I can model at my size.
SA: Please explain you’re beauty routine before getting ready for an event or photo shoot?
Robyn: If I have a red carpet event, I will get professional make-up and hair done but if it’s a smaller event, I usually do my hair and make-up myself.
SA: You’re workout regime for a week usually exists of?
Working out whenever I can. I try to schedule at least 2-3 times a week.
SA: 3 beauty products you are currently using?
Robyn: Pantene’s 3 Minute Miracle Conditioner, Dr Hauschka Rose Day Cream and coconut oil.
SA: A place you love to travel to, to unwind?
Robyn: My house. I literally live in the mountains tops and I overlook a canyon. It’s beautiful up there. I’m all about a view.
SA: How has having a daughter impacted you’re work schedule? Have you had to be a little more discerning about which jobs you choose if it means being away from her?
Robyn: Yes, 100%. You have to allocate your time where it’s worth. Before my child, I could do every single job if I wanted as it was only me to rely on but now I don’t want to leave my daughter for longer periods of times so I’ll choose to be selective.
